At the Magistrate’s Court this morning before Messrs M. Houston and T. W. Duff, Justices, the police charged! Howard Wright, a middle aged man with being a rogue and a vagabond. He was convicted and sentenced to throe months’ imprisonment in the Greymouth gaol.

Last Wednesday a presentation was made at the repair shop of the Rimu dredge to Mr F. B. Lewis, dredgemaster, prior to his departure for America on a holiday of three months. He was presented with a handsome travelling rug from the dredge staff, the presentation being made by Mr R. Furness, and good wishes were extended for a pleasant holiday. Mr and Mrs Lewis left on Thursday morning to catch the Makura, leaving Wellington early next week for ’Frisco.
