inslont to consider a report on the Motor Regulations. 1928. An apology was received for the unavoidable absence of Mr Elrock. After due consideration of the Regulations, your Committee reports as lollows: .Regulation 14.—Parking Places.Your Committee recommends the following parking places (the centre ol the road being the parking place in

each instance): Weld Street, from a point within 20 feet of Retell Street to a point within 2(1 feet of Tan wed Street. Weld Street, from a point wtihin 20 feet of Tailored Street to a point within 50 feet ol clock tower. Hamilton Street from a point within i'll feet of Sewell Street to a point within 20 feet of Tailored Street. Gibson Quay (south side, facing the west) from Sewell Street to lanered Street. In regard to this parking place it is recommended that a street light he placed in Gibson Quay, contiguous to tile Rost Office. so is to light parking place, and this light would ini doubt illuminate the claik portion of Gibson Quay 111 lront ut the Customs Reserve.) Rcc illation 11 ML We recommend that (ll By-law he passed to prowde that no motor vehicle, except a motor vehicle which is being loaded or unloaded shall remain stationary in Recell street lor more than ten minutes; and ( g, Regulation 15 <3) that by-law No. 15 be amended to provide that the maximum speed in the borough he 2o miles an hour, except along, or across intersections of Weld and Sewell Streets. Revell and Park Streets. Revell and Hampden Streets, Revell and Stafford Streets, Revell and Weld Streets, Revell and Hamilton Streets. Revell and Camp Streets, Revell and Gibson Quay; where the speed shall not exceed 10 miles an hour, and shall also not exceed 10 miles an hour in Revell Street, ami 15 miles an hour when

passing the places indicated in Regulation 15 (c). It will he necessary for the speed limits to he indicated by traffic signs mentioned in Regulation 1(5 (15 and 16).

We recommend that the Borough Inspector inspect and report on all places within the Borough where undergrowth or trees obscure the corners, and that action he taken to clear these spaces.

In regard to the letter from Mr L. Reid, respecting his electrical device for directing traffic, your Committee are of opinion that traffic domes can he made by the staff, and are sufficient for local purpose. They have no recommendation to make respecting Mr Reid’s proposal. The report was received and adopted after considerable discussion. GEN FI! AL.

out. Mr Duff seconded the motion am! after discussion it was agreed to. Mr Elcock referred to the unsatisfactory lighting of Weld Street railway crossing and moved that the attention of the railway authorities bo drawn thereto and an improvement made. Seconded by Mr Heinz and carried.

Mr Heinz moved that the attention ol .the Railway Department be drawn to the unnecessary blocking of Meld Street liy shunting operations. He stated that when Stafford Street was closed to traffic the Railway Department had stated it was required tor shunting purposes. It appeared now as if tile overhead bridge were in the wrong place and That it should he over Weld Street instead. Mr Heenun seconded. Supported by Mr Dull
