Tim British Race. The opinion that there has always been a determination on the part of British people to maintain peace was expressed in Christchurch this week by Captain A. S. Cunningham Beid, a member of the House of Commons and an ex-member of the Boyal Air Force, when referring to cablegrams from London stating that the determination that there must be no more war was spreading over Britain with surprising rapidity. ‘‘That has always been present,” he said. “I think the British people as a whole are the most peaceful in the world, but, if the lion’s tail gets a twist, the twister always hears of it.”
