When H.M.S. Dunedin was returning to New Zealand alter her refit in England, two members of the ship's company were left behind at Panama. Oil Thursday morning, the men. both firemen, arrived at Auckland by the Dutch steamer Walcheren, which had passed through the Panama Canal on her wav from Montreal.

The death occurred at Cohden yesterday of Air Louis Bradley, who had been in ifl-hcalth for two years. A young man named C.’oi’in Sneddon, residing at Barna, sustained a dislocation of the shoulder on Thursday morning, through a fall from a motorcycle. Sneddon accompanied by three other motor-cyclists, was proceeding to the South Westland Glaciers, and when near Rimu his machine skidded and capsized on the road, which was in a slippery condition after the recent rains. The cycle was badly damaged.

The Marino Department, AA ellington, has issued a notice to master mariners that the naval minesweeper AATmkakura is to search for the rock which the federal liner Northumberland struck on January 25 last north ol Gisborne. The operations will he conducted from August 24 to 215 inclusive. An area of five miles north and south and five miles east and west, with Northumberland Rock as the centre, will be marked by unlit buoys. Alasters of vessels are asked to keep clear of this area after dark. The position of the rock was reported by the master of the Northumberland to he latitude 38.41.1 south, longtitudc 178.111 east.
