It is reported that the Bank of ling- — land has accepted the offer of the Bank of France for the prompt payment of 33 millions sterling, the balance of an advance made by the Bank of England of fifty-five millions, and at the same time in restoration hy the Rank of England of eighteen millions of gold that was deposited by the Bank of France as security. Therefore, it is presumed that the Bank of France is anxious to repnv its debt earlier that was arranged, and to recover its gold, in order to strengthen its financial position preparatory to a monetary stabilisation in France.
