Jewels valued at £BOOO have been stolen from the suite of rooms occupied by Fakhry Pasha, EgyptiLn in Paris, and his wife, at one of the leading hotels in the Etoile quarter. The jewels were contained in the case of Almc. Fakhry, who missed them when she returned from making calls in town. They include la sapphire weighing 100 carats, a diamond solitaire of more than 10 carats, several bracelets, and an Oriental tiepin. £SOO JEWEL THEFT. LONDON, 'Feb. 8.. Diamonds vplued at about £SOO were stolen last evening in the Hatton (Jarden Post Office a few minutes after a Hatton Garden diamond merchant had entered the building. The merchant approached an official with the intention of despatching a number of registered packets containing the gems, and while he was speaking across the counter his attention was diverted by a stranger. When the merchant turned to resume his task of registering the packets lie found that they had disappeared. An alarm was raised, but no trace could be found of the person who had stolen the gems.
