Grey mouth, on Wednesday and Thursday the 16th and 17th of February. Such Shows as these have a special value to fanners, as they afford an opportunity of showing their host stock, and of finding out liow it fares liVder the eye of the critical and expert judge. Besides this, the judges are in a position to afford such useful information that will assist in Iho improvement of rattle, sheep and pigs as the ease may be. Whilst the educational value of these Shows will ho admitted readilv they afford the farmer a. further advantage in that he lias the opportunity of meeting farmers, and those interested in agricultural pursuits from other centres, and discussing problems 'of interest. from which often useful and enlightening knowledge results. Apart from these considerations, the Shows afford n means of advertising the capacity of our West Coast farm lands, and of demonstrating the adaptability of our climate to tho successful raising _°M dairying and store cattle, sheep, pigs and horses, which will hold their oiui with the best produced elsewhere. In supporting these Shows. the residents of tho district are helping in a vci\ practical Wav to illustrate the value of the district as a farming centre, and prove their repeated assertion hv “producing the goods ’ which will establish the fact, beyond question.
