Tn the III) yards championship Piri Page was lying third early, She was taking every advantage ol the. turns gaining on each occasion. At three hundred yards with a good sprint she came up beside the leader, from 350 yards C'onldwell displayed a fine burst of speed fill the end, the New Zealander being unable to respond. In the hundred yards backstroke championship Miss Wl.ocklev took (lie load early and was eight feet ahead at the turn. On the return lap she set up a speed impossible to surpass ami won by four yards from Miss Mealing. Although Coogee baths are not adapted to record breaking owing to the shallow water throe tool at one end, the Xew Zealand girl clipped seven and two-fifths seconds elf the Australian record. The holder. Miss Mealing also reduced her own record time taking 1.21 2-5 to cover the di--tancc. Stoeklev’s record time was 1.21 2-5.
