IL Twigg. of Auckland, who was fatally wounded in an encounter with a lion in Northern Rhodesia, in October, have been received. Mr Twigg waved his arm as a signal to the natives that lie was alive. Unfortunately, the lion saw this, and attacked him again. Then a native took Ttvigg's rifle, and killed the lion. B tinners were despatched to Mpikn. and meanwhile Twigg was conveyed there. The Governor arrived shortly afterwards, and appreciating the gravity of the case, he had his car fitted up as an ambulance to tnke the patient into Kasama, but that morning Twigg succumbed to blood poisoning. His funeral was attended by the Governor, who read the burial service and by Ladv Stanley.
