BANKRUPT PROSECUTED. DUXKDIX, July 111. Walter Henry Clement was to-day committed for trial on charges, of obtaining credit while an undischarged bankrupt. Various amounts were concerned, totalling £BO 12s, relating chiefly In deals in motor cars. The I evidence disclosed the fact that the accused was adjudicated, a bankrupt j in Invercargill, and had since secured credit in c.uinection with a garage i which lie proposed to start, in Dunedin under the style of ‘•Commercial I Motors.” SENTENCES PASSED. WELBTXOTOX, July 10. At the Supreme Court. Mr Justice Ostler passed sentences on prisoners who have pleaded guilty, as follows: Kenneth Hubert Watkins, five charges of false pretences, two years’ hard labour. Hyacinth Francis Wisniewski, theft as a servant, probation for one year. Herbert Harris Keith, n lad of 15, honking, entering and theft, was sent lo the Borstal Institution for three years. George Hurley, for theft, six months’ imprisonment. William Percy Joyce, obliterating documents and forgery, probation lor two years.
