He said that Tuesday’s events ought to convince the Government of their obligation in the matter. Air Jarrell in .seconding the motion, protested against the attempit to make party capital out of the question. This remark elicited angry exelnma lions from the Labour benches, o Mr Baldwin .said that he was satisfied there was no general desire for an - immediate inquiry. Mr MacDonald expressed the Labour Party’s satisfaction at Mr Baldwin’s announcement. Air Millar withdrew his motion on the Government's assurance that they -._„vould refer the question to the existing oornniitto on .salaries.
