This meeting appeals to the Prime Minister to submit to the King the inadvisability of the visit, and it calls upon the Government to immediately withdraw the British Envoy to the Vatican from Rome, seeing that the diplomatic relations with the Pope are an infringement of the constitution, and a grave menace to the welfare of this Protestant Kingdom.”
