WICSTLAND SU B-UNION. A meeting of the Westland SubUnion wa s “held last evening. Present Messrs F. McGregor (in the chair'), A. Dowell, Askew, GillocJy, I>. Dowell, H. Seebcck, Darker, Breeze, Cutbush, Woods, and E, W. Heenan (secreary). The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed, and the correspondence was received. From West Coast Rugby Union, enclosing statement of two local players expenses to Duller, amounting to £7 3s fid. This amount was passed for payment. From Hokitika District School, askin,, Union for a donation to assist them to travel to Westport.—Resolved to vote £5. Tho Kumar a Olgh wrote asking that their match with Kiwis which wa s postponed, be played next Saturday week. The rules stated that the postponement Committee only had the right to fix the date, and their decision was to play the fixtures postponed, on the following Saturday: so the request could not be \ d ' <>. The. Red biou v. Y> eiLiand Reps, match was arranged to take place on Saturday, August 27th. Mr Lloyd to be interviewed to arrange for sale of tickets. Resolved to write and ask the West Coast Rugby Union for this Union’s share of School grant for this season. Referees for Saturday were appointed as follows :• — SENIORS. Kumara v. Diggers—Mr Fletcher. Rimn v. Diggers—Mr Wilson. JUNIORS. Kiwis v. Excelsiors--Mr Cutbush. Kokatahi v. Rimn at Kokatahi Mr Avery Dowell. The secretary explained the necessity for securing of an outside referee for last Saturday’s fixture, the referee to bo thanked for ofFering his assistance.
