Bowling analysis Howell 2 for 07. Rotherham 0 for 73. Partridge 3 for 50. ‘ Ouaife 2 for 56, Scorer 0 for 19. Australia won by an innings and 01 runs. The weather was fine, and the wicket firm after rolling. The attendance was three thousand. On resuming. Armstrong declared at the over-night score and Warwick went in again. Bates and Green faced Gregory and McDonald. The first four overs were maindens and from the first seven only six runs were scored. In half an hour the total had reached twenty-two, of which Rates claimed twenty.

At twenty-seven, A rnistrong relieved McDonald, and got Green’s stmnp. Dates, when twenty-three, played a yorker into liis wicket*. Charlesworth and TToldsworth carried the total to sixty-three, the half century taking sixty-five minutes, at which stage Charleswortli was caught l>v Ryder. Just previously McDonald had dropped him off Armstrong. The wickets fell fast after luncheon. Scorer failed to negotiate one of McDonald’s full pitchers, and TToldsworth clayed the same bowler on. Smart spooned one to Collins. 7 for ST*. Oldfield bagged Partridge, and Cross wart noped Rotherham, and was missed bv Taylor in the longfield off Armstrong when a single.
