SAMPLES FOR OVERSEAS

The Prince of Wales, inspected at the Overseas’ Trade (Department foreign safples exhibition, comprisng one hundrew thousand samples of competitive manufactured goods, which are in demand in Overseas market and also two samples exhibition, comprising one linnminion’s touring exhibitions, which comprises about a thousand cases from about six hundred manufactures which will start early in summer. The Prince of Wales gave the following message;—“l am very glad to hear the touring exhibition is likely to he completed at an early date. During my recent tour, I realized we are in danger of losing a hold of certain markets in the Dominions in which we were formerly supreme, hut from which we are gradually being ousted by foreign competition. I am quite sure, however, that the danger is only temporary, and will pass. I am confident the exhibi-

tion will have a warm welcome throughout. the dominions. It’s advent will do much to remove the impression that British merchants do not fully realize the importance of trade within the Empire, and opportunities for development. Wishing tho venture every success I shall watch it with keenest interest, and keep in touch with its progress.”
