GOVERNMENT ADORNMENTS.
Sir, -Might I suggest that the Public Works Department be asked as a great favour they would allow their designers of the fence, that protects the ruins of the old Police Camp, to prepare plans for a fence something on the same basis that could be placed round (as a protection) the huts which the Harbour Board has allowed to beautify the water front, I am sure the de si<rn of the lints will not in any way interfere with the artistic nature of the fence. Yours etc., WHAT OH, FENCE! Revel 1 St. April Ist. [Wo observe that a notice appears on the fence in question warning the publie not to strike matches or otherwise scratch the paint.-f Ed. “G.”.]
