PERSONAL ITEMS.
Mr. V. B. Stratton, secretary of th« Egmont Racing Club and the Waimate Plains Trotting; Club, returned to Haw&ra on Saturday evening, and, his friends will be pleased to learn, with restored health. The many friends of Mr. James O'Reilly, one of the oldest residents of Hawera, will be glad to learn that after being laid aside for three months he is now out again, and though still weak, is well on the road to good health once more. Mr. P. ODea left this morning for Palmerston North to attend the sittings of the Supreme Court there. He expects to return about Thursday , M*S T S.,P- Mly> L.A.8., left to-nay tor Wellington to represent Hawera at the conference of professional musicians and teachers, which will discuss the proposed Registration Bill for teachers of music. The conference opens tomorrow.
Miss E. M. Mclntosh. principal of the New Plymouth Girls' Sigh School, has been compelled on account of continued ill-health to apply for leave of absence hntil the end of the year.
