TIMARU SPORTS
TIMARU, Jan. 2. At the. second day of the South Canterbury Caledonian Society's sports. Phil O'Shea carried off three of the five cycling events on the programme with great dash from scratch. Beardman took the first big event, O'Shea losing ground at a critical point owing to a oedal mishap.
Everitt (Christchurch) won the big sprint event; Long (Christchurch) the half-mile; Harris (Temuka) the mile; Lewis Ridgen (Christchurch) the principal amateur events. Tlie principal dancing events were: Fb'll2, New Zealand championship for girls under 14, Doreen AVheeler ('Dunedin); Highland reel, girls under 16, Lorna Bridge.
