MELBOURNE, Sept. 22. The Federal Treasury amusement tax returns show that approximately £8,000,000 was spent in amusements in the Commonwealth last year, moving pictures still retaining the place of favouritism. The total admittances from all sources were 100,000,000, of which 67.500,Q00 represented attendances at pictures. "Theatre attendances were 10.500,000, racing 6,500,000. Concert taxation indicated scant patronage, only £20,751 being received. Dancing and skating taxation amounted to £33,619.
