AUSTRALIA AND JAPAN
NEW YORK, Aug. 4.
The Australian Davis Cup players have arrived at Chicago and have begun practice for their encounter with. Japan, beginning on August 10. The courts generally are in poor condition. Anderson is in excellent form and defeated Schlesinger and Mclnnes. Hawkes is in poor form and his wrist is still weak. The Japanese team is expected to arrive on Sunday.
