— * SCHOOL COMMITTEE MEETING. (Frem Our Own Co-respondent). The monthly meeting oi the School '] Committee was held on ITriday evening. Present: Messrs A. Lees (chairmank J. E. Mortimer, Z. Tipiady, L. Houlahan, M. Robertson au<d a*. G. Fraser (secretary). The headmaster (Mr lnnes) imported a roll number of 203. The average attendance for last month had gone down owing to^ so much sickness prey ailing. l>r. Gunn (health officer) had paid a visit of inspection during,the month. The Education Board's inspectors, Messrs Griffin and liallantyne, had made their annual inspection visit on July 26. The headmaster also (reported on the school's - success at the recent Hawera .Winter Show. . A motion was passed unanimously mittee's intention %o organise it"*f!incy on their success at the Winter Show, and especially on winning the shield for agricultural work or tjie sixth year in Baceessioiii ' [.■ .., ,_ ■ ."'•" • ■:."■ ":' ~ '_■ A vote of thjtnfe was" also passed to> all those who had assisted wi,th the school district bay, the Darents and eliiWreh having responded liberally with exhibits. The excellent staging by thoso responsible for this part^of the work was also heartily commended. ,- Severa-1 small matters reouiring attention were left in tlie Hands of the chairman. " ' In "connection with the hostel committee's intention to 'organises fancy fair" and sale of work for the liquidation of the hostel debt, it was decided that the school committee lend e\ery a^ssistanoe in order to make the function a success. ■ j
