It is stated here that though the price of tea has been temporarily reduced in consequence of the reduction in duty there is a shortage of stocks, which will presently involve an in- j crease to a substantial amount. It is asserted that so many plantations went j out of business during the war that I there are no old stocks, and the price ! in Ceylon is 2d per lb. more than it was Six months ago.
