kaponga's farewell to the Mccartys. (From Our Own Correspondent.) On Thursday evening last the townsfolk and members of the various clubs gave Mr. and Mrs. McCarty a farewell social in the Parish Hall. The little hall was fairly well filled with friends, and a right merry time was spent. The first part of the programme consisted of vocal and instrumental items, all of which were very good indeed. After supper (which was also a tip-top item) Mr. and Mrs. McCarty were presented with tokens of esteem in which both were held by their club mates and friends. On behalf of the local friends and townspeople Mrs. McCarty was presented with a very handsome silver entree dish, and from the Star Hockey Club half a dozen each, large and jsmall stainless knives, and the Tennis Club a brush, and comb. The Tennis Club presented Mr. McCarty with, a. silver ash tray. The Town Board, on the previous Saturday evening; presented Mr7 McCarty with a very fine solid leather suit case.
