NOT ELIGIBLE.

« SEATS ON HOSPITAL BOARD. TWO MEMBERS DISQUALIFIED. (BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION.) DAEGAVILLE, July 11. At to-day's meeting of the Kaipara Hospital Board notification was received from the Audit Department that two members of the present Board, Messrs W. J. Simian and Thos. Bassett, and Mr. A. Morgan, a member of the old Board, had been disqualified owing to the fact that the Board had purchased goods from companies of which the members concerned were directors. The first two mentioned are directors of the Northern- Wairoa Dairy Company,, from which the Board bought their supplies of butter, and the latter is chairman of the Kaipara Lime Company, from which the Board bought a quantity of linn for use on a. farm attached to the hospital. Mr Morgan did not seek re-election this year. The members of the Board are very indignant at the position of affairs, and decided to bring 'the matter before the Hospital Boards' conference to be held at Wellington this month, with an idea of getting the Government to amend, the Act. The Board has now decided to cease buying their butter from the dairy company, and | has been informed that if this is done the members will be again eligible to take their seats on the board if recommended "by the local body whom they represent.
