DELAYS IN EEPLYING.

LONDON, June 22. The Nation says that the delay in the reply to the British questionnaire is by no means wholly due to the Belgian crisis, but the questionnaire is so comprehensive and searching that the French Government might reasonably demand considerable time to prepare its answer. The British demand is admirably designed to secure that M. Poincare's cards should be placed face up on the table. Unless the questions are answered by studied evasion we should have a complete and intelligible statement of what France is really aiming at. —Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
