IMPORTANT WILLIAMSON ATTRACTION.

"MY LADY'S DRESS," 1 The box plans for "My Lady's Dress" will be opened at Everybody's Sweet Shop on Saturday nex£. At the Opera House, Hans-era, Tuesday next, J. O. Williamson, I/td., announce the re-appearance of the noted English actress Emelie Polini, who will inaugurate a season of one night with the first staging here of "My Lady's Dress/ a drama in three acts and nine scenes from the pen of the world-famed author Edward Knobloek, who was responsible for "Kismet" and "Milestones.'' Since this fameus actress made her reappearance on the Australian stage early last year, she has scored a series of dramatic successes in the above mentioned pieces. "My Lady's Dress1' is said to provide a remarkable study of the social and industrial system, and the principal parts are aoted by Miss Polini. This brilliant actress, who is best remembered by her acting in "Eyes of Youth," gives clever and convincing characterisations in the numerous roles in which she appears in this production. Like "Eyes of Youth'," the play in reality is a series of plays, each distinct in itself, although connected with the principal story. Each aqt, and, in fact, each scene, is complete in itself, although related to the general v theme. Interesting, exciting, and tragic scenes and adventures are associated with the work of "My Lady's Dress/ which the heroine of the story wishes to wear so as to impress a man whose infhienoe is to secure her husband a high and social and lucrative position. As can be imagined from the brief synopsis of the piece, ample opportunity is provided for the display of Miss Polini's wonderful artistic talent and versatility. ' As the society lady, the Italian giVl peasant, tlie wife of the weaver, the Dutch girl, the poverty-stricken and deformed Londoner, the wife of the Siberian trapper, or the Mannequin, she is said to be equally effective in her characterisations. That fine actor, Mr. Frank Harvey, is also said to excel in the many different' and difficult p«trts he has to sustain during the performance. An exceptionally strong J. C Williamson company are in support of the two principals. Mr. George D. Parker is I the producer, while the gorgeous cosj tumes vrer& designed and executed by I Marlame Brook of the J. 0.
