LADIES' BALL
i Great interest is being taken in the ladies' ball to be held in the Mokoii* Hall on Tuesday evening jiext, Thehall is to be tastefully decorated whilethe floor will be in first-class order. An orchestra of three instruments wUt. supply the music, so together with ».. first-class supper, visitors on Tuesdayevening are\ assured of a night full of enjoyment. * THE FACTORY. ** is very gratffying to find that theMcl Is brand of butter still maintains its h-jgh record. The directors of the company have, just received advice from the chief grader (Mr. E. C. Wood) of the Dairy Produce Grading Department, Patea., that the average grade for the year ended March 31, 1923, was--94.071 points, this \being the highest: average for Patea for the period. The directors and shareholders will join with Mr. A\ ood in congratulating the manager (Mr. S. J. Tidswell) and the but— termaker (Mr. A. Tidswell) on the high average so consistently attained. FOOTBALL. ' The- local schoolboys have lately beea taking an active part in the good oldgame. Two matches were played against the Ohangai boys; on both occasions the local boys were defeated - by a/ substantial margin. In their first; match with the Whareroa boys the local lads proved the victors, "but in the return match they were defeated by a narrow margin. EUCHRE TOURNAMENT. The euchre parties -still -maintamtheir popularity. On each evenings about fifty players have taken part in the games. The successful players for Ik?- i-*& I *>£?--ev«*nings were; Ladies, Miss and Mrs. Cooper: gentlemen Messrs Taylor and G. Lander,. JNext ihurSjday evening will concludethe nrst period, so the points prizes wife then be presented.
