CROWDED CITIES.
STAGNATION IN COUNTRY
BY CABLE—PEESS ASSOCIATION—COPYEIGHT SYDNEY, June 7. A convention has opened at Armidale in connection with a movement for the creation of new States. Dr. Earle Page, in a, speech favouring -the movement, declared it was the only practical solution of the evils of the centralisation of industry, population and wealth in two or three capital cities, and to stop the stagnation and retrogression of population and development in the country. Mr. Bruce sent a similar message advocating that the new areas be allowed to work out their own salvation.— Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
