LONDON, June 6.
As a sequel to press allegations of extravagance in connection with the international labour bureau at Geneva. Mr. Terrill, in the House of Commons., drew attention to the bureau costing the British taxpayers £30,000 yearly*. He asked, in the absence of benefit to the taxpayers, what were the prospects of a reduction of this expenditure.
Sir W. Joynson-Hicks replied that it was largely as a result of British repre_ sentations tVat the proposed estimates of the bureau for 1924 had been redxieed from nine to seven million francs, and at a meeting of the governing body next week the British representatives will propose two further reductions. — Renter,
