I ♦ • ( Owing to an oversight the notes for the week ended May 12 were not published. In that week competitions were arranged for both class A and B shots and resulted as follows: Class A ladies, Miss Goodwin; class B ladies, Miss Tocker. Class A gentlemen, J. E. Blake (after tying- with F. llae); class B gentlemen, S. J. Carter. I A match was fired on Thursday night, ; 10th inst., between a team from Mai naia and one from the local club, and resulted in a win for Hawera by 33 points. Scores were as follows:— Hawera: Mrs. Kae 49, J. E. Blake 49, F. Rae 49, E. Thurston 47, Mrs. Mc•Cormack 46., A. G. Robertson 44 —total 284. Manaia: Hotter 48, Silvester 47, Deakin 45, Miss Ryan 41, Wilson 36* Miss Parker 34—total 251. Last week great interest was shown in the buttons match between teamscaptained by H. Collier and E. Thurs-, ton. Scores were as follows: Collier 50, R. Smith 48, Mrs. Collier 45, Miss Mather 44 —total 187. Thurston 47, Isherwood 48 Mrs Hawkins 47, Mri. Stafford 35—total 177. Collier's team, therefore, now hold the buttons and are challenged by the following team: J. Petersen (captain), Mise T. Ingram, Miss Tocker, and S. J. Carter. Thii j match will take place on Wednesday j evening, 23rd inst. Conditions re buttons and teams matches are posted up on the notice board at the range, and members are requested to make themselves conversant with same.
