PEKING, May 21. A Tientsin message reports that one officer and five Chinese troops were killed in a battle with the bandits, who suffered one killed and one wounded. The military governor at Shantung has ordered 1500 additional troops towards the bandit stronghold, despite the latter' s threat to kill the captives unless the troops are withdrawn.—Aus.-N.Z.
