TRADES DISPUTE ACT
MOVE TO .REPEAL. WARNING ~BY LABOUR. «I 0*"* T»- -VM.*s>« iSROCt AVION— SOPYBIGHT Received May 3, 10.5 a m London, May 2. ' Colonel Hurst (Conservative), in introducing a Bill in the House of Com- ' mons for the repeal of the Trades Disputes Act, 1906, said that the Act had caiised not only a great amount of unemployment, but an incalculable amount of human misery. The clause which sanctioned picketing was only a cloak for intimidation and" violence. i Mr. J. H. Thomas said the Act was responsible for the , creation of the Labour Party, and if the other side wanted to hasten the day when Labour should go over to the Treasury benches Colonel Hurst should persuade the Gov- ' -eminent to- give every facility for the ' passage of the v ßepeal Bill.—Aus.-N.Z.
