SCHOOL COMMITTEES.

' FRASER ROAD. (From Our Own Correspondent). The householders' meeting was poor-; Iy attended, but it is understood that' the following committee will carry on, ! viz.: Messrs R. Smith (chairman). A.; L. Campbell, J. Jarvis, L. A. Jennings and Mr J. R. Moller (secretary). j Satisfaction was expressed with the' position of the school being maintained ! in Grade Ilia. There is a substantial balance in the bank to carry on the work. ] TE KIRI. (From Our Own Correspondent). About thirty householders attended the meeting on Monday evening, in-' eluding several ladies. After an inter-! esting meeting, Messrs Stockwell, Coxhead, Collins, Beer and Hughes were elected, the voting being in that order. At a subsequent meeting Mr Collins was elected chairman and MiBeer secretary. AT7ROA. (From Our Own Correspondent). The outgoing committee presented the annual report to the householders. It stated that during the year practically a new staff had been appointed to the school, and that the relations between the staff and the committee were of the most cordial nature. Im-' provements to the school and grounds had been effected as follows: —Wall blackboards had been erected to take the place of easels, and a testing bench and cupboard were also erected. Ap- \ plication had been made to the Board1 for school furniture and also for the j painting of shelter shed and teachers' j residence. The thanks of the com-! mittee is due to the Board for the: kind consideration it has given to the committee's requests. i The headmaster (Mr Walker) had,' drawn up a plan for the improvement! of the grounds, and submitted it tothe committee for its consideration. As it is too late for the outgoing committee to act in the matter, it passed a resolution at its last meeting recommending the incoming committee to carry out the scheme. The scheme itself was outlined at the meeting to the householders by the headmaster. The householders present (some twenty-five in number) approved of the suggested improvements and passed a resolution recommending- the incoming committee to carry out? the scheme. The scheme itself made provision for two tennis courts, a croquet' lawn, and two basket ball courts. The effect of the improvements when carried out will add to the general appearance of the school i and grounds. Much voluntary labour has already been offered, and Mr Penney has already ploughed and disced the ground to be used for tennis and croquet. After the discussion on the improve--1 ment scheme had ended, those present i proceeded to the election of the school committee. The- householders showed their confidence in the old committee by returning six of them, the new s committee elected being: Messrs Kil- . Patrick. Ross, Davidson, D. Barlow, Kirk, Duff and Bradford. ] ' ARARATA j (From Our Own Correspondent). I The annual meeting; of householders was held in the schoolroom at Ararata. ; There was quite a record attendance of • householders, and keen interest was . shown in the election of the new committee. Of the ten candidates who were nominated the following five were ! elected: Messrs J. Grant A. Larcom,' P. Lundberg, C. F. Marsh, and A.! , Riley. Mr J. Grant was elected chair- ! man and Mr P. Lundberg secretary of the committee for the ensuing year.
