TOWN BOARD.
(Prom Our Own Correspondent). The ordinary meeting of the Tow Board was held on Tuesday, ilth. inst there being present: Commissioner C. Coad (chairman), A. Huirlimanr A. E. McEwen, and E. Bennett. A letter was reecived from the dis trict engineer of railways with ret'ei ence to the removal of the bank a the north end of the railway statior which the board had asked to hay removed, as they considered it dangei ous on account of obscuring the viel of drivers of vehicles w rhen approact ing the crossing:. The engineer est: mated that the cost would be £40, an desired to know what assistance' th board was prepared to give. It wa decided to supply a man and ,tw horses and drays, provided the fillin where the earth is to be dumped j started from the roadside. Messrs Howe and Giles wrote regarc ing improvements to the footpath i front of their..bakers' shoo, and it wa resolved to proceed with "the work a once. An invitation to attend a meetin to be held on the 19th inst. in connei t:on with Empire Week was receive from the convenors, Messrs J. B. Mvi doch and L. O. Hooker. Accounts to the amount of £54 lii 7d were passed for payment.
