IMr. Leslie H. Goddard, L.A.8.. will' give an organ^ recital in.the. Hawera Presbyterian Church on.Monday .evening next. The programme comprises a movement from a Rheitfberger Son-, ata, and Largo from Bach's second1 organ sonata. .An interesting comparison' can be made between tbe Bachlmmber'and the next item, "VoluntaryIP F-" by Bennett, a contemporary of Bach. 'An air from Queen Elizabeth's- ' Virginal Book, harmonised by Dr. Vincent, should be attractive as giving an example of melody in those far-of? palmy dayp. The second half of the programme is more modern and' includes excerpts from the works- of .- Cesar Franck, the great Belgian, Frank Bridge, Bonnet, the'celebrated French organist, and the Russians Moussoigskv and Rebikov. N Miss 'Betty Sturrock is well known as a violinist of great promise. She** will play a delightful Larghetto (Mo K - , art) and "Meditation" '(Thais), hy Massenet.
