ELTHAM COUNTY ROADS.
A RATEPAYER'S COMPLAINT. To the Editor. ™J , ,* i Sf tllrday an interview was reported between an Auckland) tetar representative and Mr. .Belcher, ff ls£}, very^l for the chaiVman of the Eltham Coitnty Council to extol i the achievement of the couHcil in the P^ sl°n ?f tar-sealed roads, but we ot the lmmoaua Road cannot resist a gentle reminder anent_the tar-sealed road we haven't got. Oan Mr. Belcher give us the satisfaction of a promise that the council's scheme includes Tirimoana? Surely it deserves consideration j for is it not a fact that the chair- ! na",. s.own motor jibbed when he came to Immoana on December 7? Then accessibility is the first requirement of a farming settlement. We pay rates, yet one of our suppliers the other I morning sacrificed 18001b of milk bej cause of his late arrival throuah being j bogged on a road in the splendidly tpn£ j vided Eltham County. In Mr. Belcher's own words, 'Tanners much preI fer a good road when they are obliged j to transport their milk to* the factories every day." Now, sir, it is all'very well (as has been said) for Mr. Belcher I to extol the work of the council, but j is it not the fair turn of some of the out districts, which, after all, provide I their fair share of the money so far ! spent on roads more in the public eye? j Tanking you.—l am, etc., RATEPAYER.
