SCHOOL COMMITTEE MEETING,

APPOINTMENT OF HEADMASTER,

A special meeting of the Eltham School Committee was held last evening in the Municipal Buildings. Those present were: Messrs Ira J. Bridger (chairman), W. S. Heyes (secretary), J. H. Gower, BT. L. Smith, H. Bunn, L. Nichel, W. Newson. The meeting was called for the purpose of appointing a headmaster for the Eltham Sehool in place of Mr T. Thomas, who has retired on superannuation. ■ After very careful consideration it was unanimously decided to appoint Mr Edward Bary, at present headmaster of the Wadestown School.

The Baths' Sub-Committee reported that it had been decided to run a swimming sports late in January.
