j One or two remarkable instances of strange places in which birds will build their nests and rear' their young are I told by Mr. Johannes Anderson. One j relates to the guard's van of a train 1 running to and from Ashbujton. A! . sparrow constructed* its dwelling on a ■ ledge in a corner, laid its eggs, and sat there day by day, making the , journey to and fro daily. After the j young had been hatched a day or two the parent bird left the youngsters to take the train journey by themselves, but came in to feed them directly the train returned to Ashburton. In one instance in England a bird actually constructed its nest between the points of tl|e rails on a main line railway, laid its egprs and hatched its young, in soite of the fact that trains were constantly passing over the spot, only afi inch or two from the nest. Revision- of boundaries has affected electoral rolls. Check your name on the roll now. Vote Continuance*
