The weather was fine, and there was a large attendance. j There was a big field in the Mona Nursery Handicap. Royal Thought made a good run in the straight and won well. Royal Thought cost the owner (Mr. Eccles) £325- j Great excitement was caused by the j defeat of Eurythmio in the Herbert ! Power Stakes. Purser, who was lying . sixth at the mile, was third into the straight. It was a slow race at the beginning, but the last half mile was covered in I4fsec, and the last six furlongs in lmin 14|sec.
