In the semi-final Miss Molly Gourlay, a countyplayer from Surrey, taking every advantage of Miss Wsthered's mistakes, which were numerous, was 2 up at tho 12th hole. Eventually the crowd of 1000 saw Miss Wethered putting for the retention of her title on the IBtE> green, Miss Gourlay just missing a long: putt. This enabled Miss Wethered ta I square the match, with her stroke score |77 to _iss Gourlay's 79.
