WOMEN'S MISSIONARY UNION

At the annual meeting of the Baptist Women's Missionary Union, the treasurer reported that £1218 had been raised. The following officers were elected: Dominion president, Mrs. W. S. Rollings (Wellington); secretary, Miss Gaihsford; treasurer, Mrs. O. f Collins; vice-presidents: Auckland. 'Mrs. Smeetbn; central, Miss Gage; | Wellington, Mrs. R. S. Gray; Canterbury, Mrs. E. E. Smith; Otago, Mi*s Ings. The Baptist Union Conference financial statement. shows that receipts were £2045. The chief item of expenditure was £1141, being a^ grant to churches. The debit balance under the general account was £159. I It, was stated-that the testimonial to the Rev. Mr. North would reach £400. ! It was decided that members could join the annuity fund at ;55 instead of 60. The sustentation fund committee reported having adopted a scale f#r married ministers of £250, married home missionaries £230, single ministers _and Home missionai-ies £180. Additional grants were agreed to as follows: Vive pounds for each child up to three. The Rev. Mr. Gray reported regarding the Ministerial settlement scheme. Only twenty replies.had been received. Eleven churches were for the scheme and nine against it. It Avas decided to drop the matter.
