MADE SURE OF IT.
A clergyman in the East End of London recently presented a" ragged little urchin with a new suit of clothes. More than a week passed before they met again, when the donor was pleased to see that his gift was still in evidence. The lad's father drank, and the clergyman had feared that the suit would be.pawiied to buy liquor. "Ah. Johnnie, still wearing your nice suit, I see!" said the kind-hearted old. nvi-n approvingly. And there was a world of pathos in the lad's reply: "Yea, sirj. l've slept in it!"
