Two magnificent bronze palms, to be placed on behalf of the French Government on tfie grave of an unknown soldier.in Australia and New Zealand, respectively, have been shipped on board the dismantled French , cruisers Jules Miehelet and Victor Hugo, which have sailed from Brest upon a world's propaganda tour to spread French' culture. ■;''.,
The warships have been transformed. Instead of guns and turrets, th© vessels, throughout are furnished with rich velvets, silks and laces. The bulkheads are hung with works odf the bust French painters. [A proposal to bring the body of amunknown soldier for burial in Ills homeland was rejected in Australia, while a similar suggestion in New Zealand v* as lost in faint enthusiasm.]
