PEDIGREE JERSEY FAIR.

AT KAPONGA

BUYERS FROM MANY DISTRICTS

Despite the inclement weather there was a large attendance of buyers from j all parts of the district and from out-: side for the third pedigree Jersey fair' held this week. ; The sale was conducted by Mr. C. S. Williams (Stratford) and Mr. B. FeaToh (Kaponga), of the staff of Newton King, Ltd., and < they got through the work in excellent; style, having a hard task to elicit bids,! but they disposed of all the unreserved animals and most of those on which there was a slight reserve. The prices ' were only moderate, the total reaching 1150 guineas. The prices for good animals ranged from about 20 to 30 guineas, while the top price" was se-1 cured for a yearling bull on behalf of Mr. Thos. Linn, of Mangatoki—Fair V£ew Sterling. Bidding was fairly ', good and the price eventually reached ! 60gns. .Many were purchased by Mr. ' Lancaster, of Palmerston North,! while a number were sold to go to Herekino (North Auckland), the Wai-j kato and Ohura. s I At the beginning of the sale a welcome was given to buyers by Mr. A.' Guy, who said that the association was always keen to see that animals satisfactory to purchasers were yarded, and this was proved by the presence this year of many buyers who were present last year. j
