Mr ;Charlton, said that, Labour preferred' a continuance of the agreement. Mr Watt moved an amendment that ( the duty on sugar; the product 6f cane, both raw and white, be"£9 6s 8d a ton. Tliis was carried against the Government, by 30 votes to 24. I The Minister for Customs moved the ! same duty on invert sugar and invert' i syrup and £4 13s 4d on syrups. This j also was carried. t
