A new clause was added to the Whakatane Harbour Amendment. Bill, giving the board the right to levy dues in respect of the Tarawera harbour only for the purpose of imp roving and maintaining the port facilities.

The following Bills were put through the final stages and passed: Wanganui River Trust Amendment Bill; Palmerston North Reserves Bill; Petone and Hutt Gas Lighting Bill; Christchurch District Drainage Amendment Bill. The Statutes Revision Committee recommended a minor amendment to the Pharmacy Amendment Bill and reported the Electric Power Boards Amendment Bill and the Incorporated Societies Amendment Bill without amendment.

.The clause in the Wellington City Empowering Bill giving the City Council the right, to charge om Sunday for admission to the Newtown Zoo was deleted by the Local Bills Committee.

The Council adjourned at 4.50 p.m
