SYDNEY, Oct. 11. The Government is introducing legislation this week'to take the place of the Profiteering Act. The new Act is designed to protect the people against the activities of combines, trusts and monopolies, and the penalties for offences amount to £500, whilst a continuance of the offence is punishable by the infliction of' a further .£SOO fine for each day's continuance,
