Th© Government Meteorologist- telegraphed that for the 24 hours from 9 a.m. to-day the indications are for freshening westerly winds, strong to gale, shortly. Indications are for a temporary improvement, but a storm appears to be approaching from the west, with weather clouding over. Rain later. Barometer falling again soon;, tides good; seas considerable swell.
