-4— . / (From Our Own Correspondent.) SPORTS CONCERT, There was a crowded house for the concert on Wednesday, when the wellknown Maori Entertainers gave one of their popular entertainments, and judging by the frequent applause the large audience were more than satisfied with their efforts. From tlie opening to the final chorus by the company each item w-as well received, and.recalls were most constant. Misses M. Rama and Walden were in good voice, as also was Master Lethaby. .Mr. Ben Lethaby was also in good form, as also was our old friend Mr. Terry Gormley. The hakas and poi dances were well given and in perfect time, and the dish band greatly pleased. The company at the conclusion wpere accorded a hearty vote of thanks, at the call of Mr. R. J. Linn. The dance which followed was a great success, Mr. N. Coburn supplying the music, and Messrs F. Palmer and W. Laurent had charge of the floor. The takings at the concert and dance amounted to £24, and with the good gates and nominations the society should come out with a good profit.
