ELTHAM.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) ACCIDENT.
A very serious accident happened at, the intersection of the Eltham and1: Hunter roads about midday yesterday(Thursday). It appears that a wellf known young man named Mr. FredV Briscoe was going to Kaponga on amotor cycle, and at tho corner ofr Hunter road met Mr. Allen, who wasdriving a car. The two collided, and when the car was stopped I understand the cycle was right underneath; young; Briscoe being thrown a short dlstanceaw&j. On Minkinsj inquiries later itwas reported that Briscoe has both legs, broken, one of them in two places, and one arm broken, also his shoulder badlyhur,t Mr. Fred Briscoe is well known in town, as he has practically lived all his life here. He is a member of the" Senior Football Cluo, and played in the match against Inglewood last Saturday. He is a very popular citizen. Hisparents, Mr. and Mrs. Briscoe, reside* just outside thy town boundary, Mr. Jim Briscoe being an old and well respected member of our town. Great, sympathy is felt for the young man and? his parents.
